Video : 20th November, Europeana Project

EU plans online library. The Telegraph (en)
" ... Items have been collected from 1,000 museums, national libraries, galleries and archives — including the Louvre in Paris and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam — so users can scour for books, paintings, audio files, maps, videos and other artifacts in one website: http://www.europeana.eu ...
... The site has 3 million items now and officials hope to get 10 million items on it by 2010. Even that is just a start, as only one per cent of the historic works, documents and cultural artifacts across Europe have so far been digitized. "You may download most of what is on there (for free)," Ms Cousins said. The project, which started two years ago, seems to be Europe's answer to Google's efforts to build a private digital library and is to be launched amid much fanfare by the EU's ministers on Thursday ...
... Santiago de la Mora from Google's European office welcomed the launch, saying Google hoped to collaborate with Europeana "taking part in what could become the biggest technological leap in disseminating knowledge since Gutenberg invented the printing press." ..."

Laurent Cohen-Tanugi: The Shape of the World to Come. Guy La Roche, A Fisful of Euros
" ... Laurent is courageous and correct in saying that today’s multi-polar world is not just more equal but also more unstable, contrary to the European hope of equalizing relations with the United States. Nationalism is returning and we are “moving away from the post-modern ideal of global governance,” and we are witnessing a return of “nineteenth-century geopolitics.” ..."

" ... During an address to MEPs in Strasbourg, Mr Sarkozy, who holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, called for sweeping changes to state aid laws to allow far greater protectionism in the face of the economic crisis. Video : 8th October Repliee R-1

A life-like robot created to look like a five-year-old girl has been unveiled by scientists in Japan. Matrix, AI, I Robot, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica etc etc ... do not look so far away from the real world.

The future Generations will certainly have a robot like this one in their house. Should we be scare about it or should we welcome this Technological evolution ?

Video : Axel Miller Laughing about 'his Golden Parachute'

Video : 3rd October 'Do Not Vote!' Campaign, USA 2008

Celebrities made an ironical call for Voting for the next Presidential Elections.
As Julien Frisch mentioned in his post, Shouldn't we be doing the same for the next European Elections ??? ... as in the current situation, the turn over is predicted to be very low.

Video : 2nd October Lieutenant Vitaly Efremov Sent to SIBERIA because of this Video

I found the Video through the Times (UK). It seems that criticising the life conditions in the barracks is still a crime of Lese-Majeste in New Russia, even if it is done with humour.
Ironically for the Lieutenant Vitaly Efremov, he will have the opportunity to compare the Military Life condition between Saint Petersburg and the Deep Siberia.
I can't stop thinking that the Kremlin's authorities still have some humour too. A different kind of humour than the young Lieutenant, but still one.

" ... The lieutenant modelled his video on Stan by Eminem, in which the rapper sends a letter to a frustrated fan. The Russian letter is to Anatoly Serdyakov, the Defence Minister, and is set against a backdrop of military decay: a crowded barrack room with peeling wallpaper, a scabrous bathroom, erratic shower water and broken equipment ..."

Video : 8th September, Czech EU Presidency Clip

This Clip will only be aired in Czech Republic as it seems the clip is quite controversial, dixit an article from le Figaro, a French Newspaper.
"...Présenté dans un clip publicitaire de 35 secondes dans lequel des personnalités tchèques de tous bords jouent avec des morceaux de sucre trempés dans le café, le mot d'ordre «Evrope to Osladime» peut signifier tout aussi bien «Nous allons adoucir l'Europe» que «Nous allons en faire baver à l'Europe». Ce double sens, en forme de clin d'œil aux franges eurosceptiques de la population, ne sera diffusé qu'à l'intérieur du pays..."
"... Introduced in a video clip of 35 seconds, in which some Czech celebrities play with sugar pieces dipped in some coffee, the moto «Evrope to Osladime» may mean either "We will sweeten it up to Europe" or either "We re going to make them suffer". This double meaning, as en eye clic for national euroseptics will only be aired inside the country..." (Translation by Gwenael Mourey)
